Durham 243-9 v Somerset
Martin Emmerson BBC Radio Newcastle
We watched Durham score their highest FC total at this ground last weekend. Today I am not sure they will reach 300.
They won the toss and decided to bat but despite a few starts, nobody has gone on to a big score. Ollie Robinson's 52 is the best so far.
The track has quite a bit of uneven bounce and a few deliveries have been shooting through to the keeper. It's difficult to know what a good score is on it.
Matt Henry has taken 4-50, with three of the wickets coming in wicket maidens in the first over of a spell.
Somerset tied up the three bowling points after 64.5 overs. Durham are seven away from a batting point.
Sizeable clouds overhead at The Oval as we near the start of the Surrey first innings.
Unlike the home side, Essex do have a spinner in their line-up and he is arguable the best in the county business - Simon Harmer - but they need their seamers to capitalise on this pitch and make some early inroads into the top order.

Derbys 244-1 v Kent
There it is - Caleb Jewell paddle sweeps Matt Parkinson for a single and reaches his first Derbyshire century, and eighth in first-class cricket, off 179 balls.
The Australian has hit 10 fours in this innings and he and Harry Came have added 145 for the second wicket.

Worcestershire v Warwickshire 182-5
117 runs added for three wickets for Warwickshire, who will still feel they have control as long as Sam Hain stays in.
The England white-ball batter has been the Pears nemesis in that version of the game and has brought that form into this match.
Hain has moved through the gears like a dream reaching his first half-century of the summer and will enjoy his tea and cake on 76.
The rapid loss of Beau Webster and Pears old boy Ed Barnard for a duck gave Worcestershire hope and they know if they can get rid of Hain early on in the final session, they can get right back into this.

Carter c Brown b Wheal 8 (Hants 154 v Sussex 13-2)
And this game is moving on at pace.
Both openers have now gone with Oli Carter falling to a decent ball from Brad Wheal.
Very nice line and length from the South African-born Scotland seamer and Carter's tentative prod takes a healthy edge and flies chest high to Ben Brown's right.
