What a ball across, an excellent run into a great area.

He's got to be scoring that.

    It's an absolute sitter.

He has to hit the target. I can't believe he's put that wide.

Rangers need to sort out that left-hand side. Everything is coming down there.

Maroan Sannadi misses an absolute sitter.

A ball across the face of goal has to be buried, but he puts it wide!

He's over hit the ball and that's why it's not been given.

The is there, but the recovering defender has the ball at his feet.

    Steven Thompson
Former Rangers striker on BBC Radio Scotland

Rangers have got away with one there, massively.

One thing is for sure, Sannadi should be furious at the booking because it most certainly isn't a dive. It's clumsy from Balogun.

    I can't believe that wasn't a penalty.

I'm not sure he dives, but I don't think it's a penalty by any stretch of the imagination, he goes down rather easily.

    But play goes on!

The Sportsound team are surprised - and so am I, to be honest.

It's certainly not a dive anyway.

Maroan Sannadi is into the book for a dive.

He wants a penalty for a trip by Leon Balogun.

    They'll check this...

    That could've been dodgy.

Ianis Hagi makes a weird attempt to turn away an Athletic corner and that could've easily come off his hand.

    Gets away with it.

Rangers players think Inaki Williams has dribbled the ball out (it looked like it did) but play goes on.

Vaclav Cerny has to wake up to make a block and it's out for a corner.

The resulting set piece comes to nothing.

It is very rash for a senior player to dive in at the edge of the box like that.

But I have to say, I think Rangers have coped very well since then.

The red card has completely changed the game. Rangers were happy to create half chances from set pieces whenever they could.

The work rate of Ianis Hagi and Vaclav Cerny has been very impressive. They've retained their shape, and whenever they get the opportunity they've got Rangers up the pitch.

There's been a lot of talk about Nico Williams and I was looking forward to watching him. James Tavernier has dealt with him extremely well.

Rangers will be more than happy with the first 45 minutes. They'd have taken a draw before the game, they definitely will now.

The shock of the red card early on could have changed the dynamic, but there's been a siege mentality, us v them, and that's galvanised Rangers.

They're playing a narrow 4-4-1, wanting Athletic to play round them. Man for man, everybody is buying in.

The first objective was to get to half time without conceding. Now it's about getting to 75 minutes and seeing where they are.

    There's no engers.

When Robin Propper was ordered off after just 13 minutes, most in this Ibrox crowd feared the worst.

Whatever plan was in place was instantly replaced with survival mode. Rangers have managed this first half very well considering the circumstances.

They've had to work so hard for it but 0-0 gives Barry Ferguson and his staff a platform to regroup and find a route to cause problems.
