So that's about all from us this evening as Wales got their World Cup qualifying campaign off to a winning start against Kazakhstan.

Wales boss Craig Bellamy had a few key players missing and I think we'd all agree his side were never at their best, but it was still a fairly routine and comfortable victory.

That's seven games unbeaten for Bellamy now, quite the honeymoon and he will get a chance to keep those good feelings going on Tuesday night when Wales make the trip to Skopje to face North Macedonia.

Wales will likely have to play better than they did tonight to get a positive result, but they will be full of confidence after starting World Cup qualifying group J with a vital victory.

Thank you very much for following along with us and we hope to see you again on Tuesday for a match that will once again be live on BBC TV, radio and online.

But first, enjoy the rest of your weekend. Nos da.

Craig Bellamy speaking to Match of the Day Wales: "It's a positive result, I knew it was going to be a difficult game.

"I didn't feel, even when we were 1-0 and then 2-1 up, they [Kazakhstan] never came out of the block, but they're also quite athletic, they keep putting the pressure on and keep being disciplined because they have that counter-attacking ability.

"We moved our shape today, so we know we could've been vulnerable from counter-attacks but we wanted control of the game. That was always going to be a test because I'm asking players to do something they haven't done before, and then you have to be patient.

"At half-time I told them just more of the same really, but stay patient. We were able to show one or two examples during the first half of when we rolled out, and centre-back went with him, which left space in behind and we need to attack the space. The key message was to stay patient, and hopefully we'll see the quality we needed.

"I've known Rabbi [Matondo] since he was very young. It's been so good having him in the group, he's such a character he's so funny, the players love , the staff love him, you can't help but love him.

"It's going to be a difficult game on Tuesday. We've done a lot of work on them so we'll see where they're at. It's going to be a difficult game, we'll need a different type of profile, a different type of energy for that game."

Wales captain Ben Davies speaking to Match of the Day Wales: "I think especially after the first half we realised the importance of starting quickly in the second half.

"The goal came at such a perfect time for us, the longer it goes on at 1-1 it makes it a bit of a tense game.

"We've all been in games like that where you go into it as favourites, you have a lot of expectations to walk all over a team, but you know it's never the case. They're a proud nation that's out on the pitch trying to win a game just like us.

"They made it really difficult for us, they were compact. You could see in the first half we forced a lot of balls when we didn't really need to.

"In the second half we were much more disciplined and we got the job done, which is the most important thing.

"The players were the ones that were the most frustrated at half-time, whereas Bellamy came in Mr. Calm, he came in with a plan, was clear in the messaging he gave us and what he expected in the second half, he simply asked for more energy and keep doing what we're doing."

Daniel James speaking to Match of the Day Wales: "We spoke all week about getting off to a good start and that's what we did tonight.

"I'm delighted. It's always nice to get on the scoresheet.

"We were a bit unfortunate with the penalty but we got stuck in there.

"Second-half we came out and scored a great set-piece, in international football set-pieces are really important and it's something we've been practising.

"He [Bellamy] told us at half-time to keep digging in. There were moments in the first-half where we didn't control the game as much as we wanted to, but in the second-half we controlled it much more.

"It's so important to get the win tonight and push on for Tuesday. We've got a lot of positives to take from tonight, it's going to be a really tough game on Tuesday going to North Macedonia but it's one we're really looking forward to"

Could Wales have played better at times? Yes.

At the end of the day the result is the most important thing. I thought the second-half performance was better, obviously getting the goal early helps.

You have to give Kazakhstan some credit they made it difficult for us.

Fantastic end to the game. The ball to start the move from Jordan James was exceptional. He's certainly put his hand up to start on Tuesday.

What a smart finish from Rabbi Matondo for his first goal for Wales.

Wales move to seven games undefeated under Craig Bellamy with a deserved win over a tough and hard-working Kazakhstan.

Not vintage from Wales, but they were nearly always in control and always looked the likeliest winners.

    Lovely stuff that from Wales.

Picked their moment, kept possession beautifully and then Sorba Thomas showed great energy at such a late stage in the game and Rabbi Matondo reacted quicker than anyone to score his first Wales goal.

Not a vintage display, but a comfortable win in the end.

We are into four added minutes.

Wales have looked more balanced since Jordan James came on.

The midfielder has helped bridge the gap between defence and attack, and his presence has helped Liam Cullen, who's getting forward and playing his natural game now.
